Archive — a fossil record, not a graveyard

Everything on the current wall represents where our thinking stands today. Everything here is where that thinking came from — early explorations, foundational attempts, and stepping stones that directly led to what came next. None of it failed exactly. It's evidence of how the ideas evolved.

Every link below still works exactly as it always has. Nothing was deleted, moved, or degraded to make room here — this is a different way of looking at the same lab, organized by lineage instead of by wall position.

Grid / Chain Slide lineage

The very first experiments in the lab: a grid, rigid tiles, hard contact, activation through touch. Four attempts at the same substrate, none of them quite catching fire on their own.

→ years later, this exact substrate was returned to deliberately as Lattice War, Tectonic, and Shear — all currently on the wall

Rigid Geometry ancestors

The two pieces that opened the Rigid Geometry thread properly, using the Chain Slide substrate on purpose this time. Both landed weak — and both weaknesses are exactly what led to the "competing tendencies" framework.

→ that framework produced Lattice War, Tectonic, and Shear — three of the highest-rated pieces in the lab

Universe / Sim tooling

Not a dead end at all — the actual breeding tool that produced the lab's single best reaction, still fully functional if you want to grow your own universe rather than replay the one that won.

→ the single best specimen it ever bred is FollowLeaderType0 + Bounce + TypeDrift, a hero on the current wall

Taxonomy research phase

Before the lab shifted to looser, faster exploration, it went through a period of building a taxonomy of interactive phenomena and testing blind predictions against it. One of those predictions is still loved today; its siblings and the tool that tested them live here.

Predict 1 — Hunted is the one that stuck, and it's still on the current wall
